Earlier today, Nike Football finally revealed their Magista boot to the general public. This model is highly coveted because they are Nike's first pair of soccer cleats to be primarily constructed using their Flyknit technology. Additionally, the overall design is like nothing I've seen; particularly, the "Dynamic Fit Collar" which looks like the top of a pair of socks. Considering Flyknit is a fabric, I am presuming that the level of comfort and responsiveness (ie. a player's touch) will be far greater than any leather or synthetic upper. No lie: I'm more than excited to see these in person and inevitably play in a pair.
If Boobie Miles was around, and you were wearing anything but a pair of these, he would say: "I'm going to knock [you] out with black Nikes on my feet. And I'm gonna smile when I do." Of course, he played American football but this is still football , isn't it? The Premier boot is Nike's equivalent of (and perhaps response to) Adidas' Copa boot. While it may not particularly challenge the history the Copa has established over the years, the Premier boot is definitely a start in the right direction.
